Vande Mataram- I bow to Thee, Mother.... There is something about this National Song when it plays in any country. We connect to the moment very emotionally.

Everytime I stood on the stage in America to receive an honour and India's National Anthem (Jan Gan Man) was played, I felt that my heart melted.
So today, on the eve of Indian Republic Day (Jan 26th) I ask myself a very important Question: What is home? The country where I live or the country that lives in my heart. I salute and continue to bow to Thee, the country that will always make me complete and live in my heart. India

Happy Lohri to everyone. This agricultural winter festival celebrated throughout Punjab and in parts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu.
This festival began as a celebration of the eve of the winter solstice and generally celebrated with a huge
bonfire and lots of foods and sweets eaten during this time. May the new season bring a lot of happiness. Vikas

It has been my great privilege to spend time with my legendary hero His Holiness the Dalai Lama.I interviewed him about about spirituality and food, and the interconnected universe. I was in Bodhgaya at Kalchakra Tantra shooting for my Holy Kitchens film -"Wheel of Dharma".
Thank You Bodhgaya, for your hospitality and such an enlightening experience.

It was a pleasure to attend a Treasure of a Painting Exhibition in Bodh Gaya today. As the Kalachakra ends its 4th day of teaching with HH the Dalai Lama I am truly enjoying my new year in India's greatest city of spirituality- Bodh Gaya. Nothing could be better than visiting Malvika Raj's exhibition across Mahabodhi Temple, named "The Journey". Buddha's life is the central theme presented by the blend of Madhubani Paintings and Tikuli Art (legendary Bihari schools of Art). I wish Malvika every success and thanks for all the wonderful insights to yourk work. Cheers Vikas

Chef Shazia is an amazing combination of a modern Indian woman, and a traditional Indian housewife. Her strength to pursue her dream was truly commendable.
Her dream to open a free cooking school for women who are the household help and to empower them is legendary. I salute her for being the person she is. As the season came to an end last night, I just want to say 2 words "THANK YOU" for all your love and support. I will keep cheering for our next generation of MasterChefs my country will produce. Happy New Year....The season has just begun.
